A Pirate Promotion, to be or not to be?

The Captain recently managed to complete a moutain adventure and was awarded a piece of golden Aztec junk paper. Everyone on the deck congratulates him upon his return to the ship, and quietly from behind the scene, everyone asked the Captain, "So did the People Up There rewarded you for this, say any promotion and golds for ye?"

"Promotion? Golds? Nay, just a congratulation from the People Up There," the Captain explained. "Me neck has grown at least two inches just to wait for that, promotion? and gold? Dream on, lads."
